Cubism is regarded as the most revolutionary of all art movements. It is
argued that this movement is the greatest rival of art since the ages of the
renaissance. Cubism let the artist paint not how objects looked naturally but
how the artist’s mentally pictured the object.  Traditional objects were
painted in a way that showed them from many viewpoints at one time, while at
the same time only showing minor detail of that object.  Cubism the artist
breaks up the object, analyzes it, and then reassembles it in an abstract
form. The objects also have planes and angles that intercept but do not seem
to show any depth. Along with these characteristics the background also
follows the same format while penetrating into the objects on the canvas.
